Info on Protech Settings..
Discussion
Sorry i thought i would start a new thread, so it doesnt get missed, finally got the settings sorted and wanted to share with others as i hope it will be helpful.
I was bouncing around on B roads today and i thought i've had enough of this, so i decided to get to the bottom of it.
I went back to Andys post where he was running 12 rebound on the rear, then i remembered when i first put on the suspension i was on track, this was when the settings were reversed, so i had red all the way cranked up instead of black, when i drove home i left it on track settings and i was like wow, the car feels so nice even on bumpy roads...and i posted that night on the forum to the same effect..
Obviously then i changed the settings for fear of having too hard for road, the car was too bouncy so i cranked things up a little, then i worked out they were reversed which helped things a little but still bouncy.
So then it clicked, why dont i try my track settings when they were reversed by mistake.
So i cranked up the Red on front to 11 and rear to 13, then the black cranked back down, 7 front and 8 rear.
It transormed the car, it was absorbing the bumps without crashing and without the bounce.
So all iut now needed was tweaking, the rear on my car felt much harder than the front, when i stodd on the rear clip and bounced my eight the it was not giving much, but the front was quite easy to push down with my body weight, so i tweaked the black. To 8 front 7 rear, too it out again and it felt great down the bumpy roads and gave me back my confidence, so i started giving it some and glad to say the handling was back.
When Andy confirmed that protech actually had not tweaked the shocks to put the rebound in the middle, it got me thinking, i have the stronger springs so in affect my rebound should need even more resistance, and it did..
So final settings..
Front red 11, black 8
Rear red 13, Black 7
Try them and let me know what you think.
Simon i think you may want to consider discussing extra resistence on the rebound for future shocks, mine seem bang on at 13 but no obviously a little bit of extra tolerance would be ideal..

ye the problem was a bouncy ride, lol and i dialled it out by increasing the resistance on rebound, what else can cause a bouncy ride apart from suspension? certainly not corner weighting.
I just put the info for people to "try" just in case it could be useful.
I did think maybe we had similar problems with bounce but it seems not...or maybe we have differing opinions on what we consider bouncy, or we have a difference in resistence from the starting point, either way as long as it is sorted now that is the main thing, its one of those things where we would have to go for ride alongs to maybe appreciate the difference, admitedly i am very pedantic, and i can consider something a problem which 99% would consider acceptable, if the toe on my car were to change by 1mm i would feel it in the handling immediately.
