hi
to be brief i have an unused virgin media hd box given as replacement some time ago by VM engineer, dont use it but am interested to know if it will give me itv player ? The engineer set it up in computer room/ office on my then monitor/ tv since changed to monitor only
Virgins site is confusing as i am on a M package and it only seems to allude to amn M+ package now
Does anyone know please dont just say connect it up and see as i will need to run cable from the entry point splitter thingey to the lounge which i am quite able to do but obviously its waste of time if it doesnt etc
Any help greatly appreciated

To answer my own question
Yes it does give ITV Player as pasrt of ts on demand thing it shows the last available episode but not all episodes which is kind of like BBC i Player.
After ringing them several times and being told (1) I didnt exist as a tv customer or (2) No i need to get a M+ Package I despaired and gave up.
Then we got creative
A friend reminded me that as I was able to fit my own Bluetooth kit into mine , his, his wifes cars other friends etc I was more than capable of wiring this up. He got the splitter gadget version off his own system and looked for a similar one on e bay which arrived in 2 days that was fitted then after a trip to the local Maplin to buy compatabile cable which was riiculously priced he called in a favour and bagged a 10 meter length from an aerial guy friend of his. The cable was attached run down and into the lounge neatly clipped and the f plug screwed in and box switched on and voila channel 99 said viewing card not recognised ring them, duly did quoting code whatever and was told would need engineer out - said wasnt convenient. This shows the daftness of the customer service as by chance I just scrolled up I think some channels and got BBC 1 when I removed the card got message saying insert card, rang back this time getting through to a scottish guy and allowing my friend to talk to them as if he was me, stating that we had just reconnected the box after a period of inactivity, the scottish guy asked for viewing card number sent a signal to the box and after 10 minutes working perfectly. My download speed is still the same on the pc and its stays the same if watching tv on the box so we figure its all just as good as if they did it.
My friends advice if ever we get a call out is just to say "dunno guv thats the way its always been"
A bit boring I know but they made it so long winded and difficult to ask them and get an answer looking at their forums I suspect that some people on the old M TV package have simply been taken off the system
