We've just moved up to the depths of darkest Buckinghamshire and I need to find a good independent to keep my favourite toy on the road. Has anyone got a good garage recommendation?

I'd prefer Bucks to Berks. I'd rather find someone localish i.e, near Aylesbury/Milton Keynes/Buckingham ...

Don't know of anyone. To be completely anal this place is actually in Oxfordshire. It's 5 minutes from Henley which is a nice drive from your area (try going the Watlington way).

If you do find someone good with TVRs/V8s let me know - I live in Hazlemere, out the top of High Wycombe.

Ok, just looked at the map and am eating humble geography flavoured pie! That's not too far - have you used them?

Tower View racing are just at the bottom of the M1. Good reputation - they look after Steve Heath and Peter Humphries monsters...

You we'ren't to know - Reading is in Berkshire.

Yes. They do a good job. They're not the only independent out there though - Tower View did a good job servicing my Chimaera a while back.

You could try Moore Racing in Milton Keynes. Haven't dealt with them myself and I think they're mainly into TVR race preparation and that sort thing, but I believe they do also do routine maintenance. Richard Moore certainly knows his way round the Rover V8!

Same area here and I use TVR Services - Mark & Dave great guys, with the added benefit of chatting/disturbing Steve H (we're not worthy) every now and then...

Have you tried the 413 out from Ayles to Buckingham? Classic TVR road )

Off to wash the cars before it rains...

Yes, fantastic road, went for a Sunday night pre-back to work blast. No doubt why so many bikers come up this way too. Where are TVR Services?

They are at the bottom of the M1.

Easy to get to from Milton Keynes (Euston line) or Aylesbury (train to Harrow on the Hill and tube to Neasden) but they can supply Courtesy cars if given a bit of notice.

The Griff is going down there tonight for its 48K service and big brakes to be fitted. They are also going to fettle the 520's hub carrier which has ovaled bearings so bad the suspension bolts will go through them sideways!

OK, think i'll give TVR Services a go. Thanks to all...need a new wing mirror as the r/h one is giving me an exciting view of the white lines in the middle of the road at the moment!

I doubt it. The 520 is on a car dolley at the moment waiting for a new rad, rear suspension and transmission rebuild, new front spoiler and stuff before going down to TVRS for a respray and body repairs.

Currently looking at some more go faster goodies for it though.

The shopping trolley is just having a normal service and the last year's Wedge front brakes (Wilwood four pots) fitted with a 285 mm vented/crossdrilled/grooved discs with the same fast road race pads as I am using on the Wedge. Going to a track day at Hethel on Saturday for some fun.
