insurance claim on water damage due to leaky roof?

Has anyone done this before?

A friend has a 2007 BMW convertible which has leaked water through its roof seels and this has caused the BMW amp in the boot to get wet, this ruined the amp which in turn has ruined the speaker system.

He has comprehensive insurance would this cover this type of repair and would this type of claim ruin his no claims bonus (protected). I would imagine from BMW the cost to repair this will be more than £2000.

OT but I'm going to guess and say that the car in question is a 3 series with the folding metal roof.

Shockingly bad for it to have a leak - its less than 5 yrs old. No one knows how to fix it.

I'm afraid the standard fix is a new roof, from what I was told. Leave a 2" thick atlas on the side shelves in the boot, fold the roof down onto the atlas, and it bends the roof. Which then apparently leaks. Again, just what I was told by a tech - may or may not be true!
