Ever driven a car that hates you?

I know cars are only metal, glass and plastic but my brother's 1979 Mini 1275GT always had it in for me on the odd occasion that I drove it. Something always went wrong, yet it was good as gold when my brother drove it. I was a proud Imp owner you see and I think it had an in-built hatred of me because of that.

I won in the end though, since the Mini was sold to a guy who chopped the roof of and it was soon crashed and scrapped. The Imp however apparently lives on in fine health to this day.

Yes, a 86 Mk 2 Cavalier

After i got it, it soon needed (and got) a new engine, gearbox, exhaust, radiator, brakes, shocks, all the gaitors, tyres etc. In the end there wasn't much left that was original bar the shell and interior.

However when i decided enough was enough, one of my friends was eager to buy it off me. Do you know what, in all the time he owned it, it never suffered any mechanical failures or failed another MOT and he kept it for years.

Yeah, another bloody Mini! Bought my wife a bog basic little Min' and then over the spaceof a year or so I totally rebuilt it with new wings, "A" panels, door skins, cills, new 1340 engine, new front discs, subframes... you name it, it had it.

Wife loved it and it was a proper little go kart that she used to love attacking BMW's at the traffic light GP. But, every time I drove it, it went wrong! I mean EVERY single time and after the amount of time and money O lavished on the little heap you'd have thought it would have loved me.

i was nearly cut in half by my old Nissan patrol when i decided to check why wasn't moving when it was in 1st low.
does that count?
it was the same that when i was hit by a lorry (twice) i didn't had any injuries.

Cars in general hate me! Since selling a perfectly reliable Audi tdi for no other reason than fancying a change, I've had the following -

BMW 325tds - 3 weeks after purchase the injector pump failed. Sold for spares/repairs.

Chrysler Voyager (I know I know - It was for practical reasons) Month after purchase, catastrophic HGF. While sorting that discovered the loom had been smouldering away nicely. Chrysler electrics are the work of the devil and no garage would touch it. That was weighed in at my local scrappy.

Now Mondeo Diesel - two weeks into ownership clutch salve exploded. This also revealed a knackered DMF. Got that sorted at great expense. Following week, a mystery cut out problem is plaguing it! Dropped it off at the garage this afternoon!

Would be nice to have a feckin car that works for a change. Either that or I'm going back to motorbikes... They don't break!

You don't have much luck with cars do you? Didn't you buy the RS3 that fell to pieces?

Not a car but an enduro bike.

Brought a new KTM 200 exc back in 2002, everybody who rode it said it felt angry, a real bh to ride.

The shocks/forks were set up correctly yet it still felt like it didn't want you on its back.

3 weeks in I crashed it, breaking my back in 5 places and putting me in a chair.
