My sister in law is trying to hook up her iPod to her car but needs some advice. As she lives some distance away I can't look over the car for her and she's a bit behind in the times with tech so can't send me an MMS of the dash to see there's any aux input points. Does anyone know the best way to hook her iPod up to the car for as little cash as possible? Thanks in advance.

If it has the Bose system, and if it is the same as my Mazda CX7, then the connector fits to somewhere in the back of the head unit and the ipod end lives in the glove box.

Its not the most convenient of installations, but I saw a "how to" on You Tube and it didn't look that hard.

I got the dealer to put it in when the car was a month old. It was quite expensive considering its just a wire poking and head unit out job, however it does give you contol of the ipod through the steering switches, though it is far from ideal. You don't get a lot of track info on the car radio readout.

Plus there are only certain ipods it will work with. We use a Classic.

It was expensive and my local big indy aftermarket car stereo place declined to do it for me. May have been because they didn't know what Mazda CX-7 is.
