How do LED headlights work? will deflector sticks work?

Reading the blurb about the new S3, and I noticed the "all new LED headlights", with the light bars going across.

How do these lights reflect in the right direction so as not to dazzle? Is the actual headlight still a cluster?

I wondered if the small light deflector sticker you need to put on when you go in to Europe will still work?

I assume the actual light cluster has changed to take in to account the different illumination of the LEDs?
