Ok had chimaera 2 months and the ht leads have come off 4 times!. Number 7 once, number 1 ( nearest driver?) 3 times, can tell when it comes off as the noise from un burnt petrol exploding is quite noticable. The leads are magnacor and in good knick. Is it the extenders? This time it happened the lead fell off and rested on the manifold and started to melt !

Ah, that old chestnut!

It is quite easy to think that the leads have been pushed on correctly. Often, you think that they're on but they're not.

Push them on firmly keeping the pressure in line with the axis of each plug You will feel a positive click when they're on.

If this fails, buy a set of extenders from ACT or similar suppliers and try again.

When on correctly, they won't come off!

magnecor leads have a pin hole thru the sie of the shroud that pushes onto the plug, if the hole is blind it will create an air tight seal on the spark plug and as the air inside heats up and expands it can pop the lead off.

Those leads are a pain in the ass, they loosen up over time and mine even started to pop off the coil. Even when you 'click' them on. Swapped for some other performance leads, which have never popped off since.
