hi all - looking for a bit of help on this one.

my E36 M3 cab has cut out completely twice - totally dead not even the hazards would come on, once pre start and once with after a stall in traffic.

i've noticed that sometimes the clock and radio resets at random and once the multi window button when pulled to close caused the engine to stall.

Is this an ECU problem or a serious sounding shorting or common electrical fault? 2004, 38,000 miles.

as an aside too - is the 2nd to 3rd change commonly "agricultural" or should it be smooth as a knife through butter? if the former then i'll get it checked under the warranty.

thanks in advance,

Check the battery terminals are tight.

When my e39 (same systems afaik) did similar, the battery was on its way out. It either needs a recharge or replacing, would be my bet.
