The other BiB bash story in "Mail" related to Brunstromia....
The cop shop in seaside town Penmaenmawr was perceived to be "commitment to fighting crime" by locals when it appeared to be receiving TLC in form of £30k facelift.
But ... instead it is a "Centre for Race Equality"
In the meantime - no cop shop in Penmaenmawr has led to vandalism on big time scale as nearest cop shop is in Conwy.
The town has 3500 inhabitants - mostly pensioners and B&B folk. Only 83 are "ethnic" - yet Herr Brainstorm - champion of the speed cam - insisted on this "centre"
The locals feel "betrayed" - having fought to keep thee cop shop in the past... Local councillor says: "We do not have a race relations problem here. We just want a proper police station"..
Local mama says: "The police should support the local people by being present in a police station. Nowadays - they only seem to stop motorists"
Locals newsagent: "People here are shocked! We don't need a racial unit - we need our police!"
Brainstorm's stats suggest crime had decreased by 5% - which is disputed by the frustrated folk in the principality. But we know these are massaged and about as reliable as chocolate sump plug
Councillor Stevens: "Crime has gone increased and we do not see one bobby here. It takes two days for one to turn up - and even if they respond immediately - it still takes time to come from Conwy - by which time the trouble makers have long gone."
Sensational journalism? Perhaps!
But the core has to be correct - else paper gets nailed for libel and closure of a cop shop, evidence of vandalism and thuggery is easily verifiable....
