Rocker Box Covers
Discussion
Alluminium are pretty rare, Ford fitted them to some engines and they do occaisionally pop up on Ebay but fetch good money (£100 +). The finish is dull, requires a lot of polishing to get them looking good and I believe the oil filler tube bit is still steel.
Never seen any "after market" alluminium ones.
Chrome maybe Ebay or get yours plated? They'd have to be in excellent condition, the age of them now most probably have a little rust pitting which will really show up if chrome plated.
The Alternator bracket can be altered easily to give you enough room without
touching the alloy cover
"Incidently Ian Macleod (macL) managed to fit his alloy rocker covers more easily by elongating the top bracket to engine fixing bolt hole, tilting the bracket away from the cover and bending the 'arm' that bolts near the manifold sufficiently to not require any cutting. If only I'd thought of that!!!!!banghead"

I think you might also need to modify the altanator mount to clear the alloy covers..
I had a set of steel ones blasted and powder coated red.. I think they look good. You could have them done pretty much any colour you like.

Damian,
Sorry only just getting round to sorting those off the engine I got from Norman.
Shot blasting them, gonna high temp paint coat (RED ) them, then swop for the ones on car at the moment.
So eventually will have a pair up for grabs, or maybe the whole lump, minus the water pump housing, but you are all sorted?
