(Stumbled upon this video of a drive around Southsea via the local Strong Island blog.

Interesting viewing, not only for the changes around town but also the cars- Cortinas, Princesses, a couple of SD1s, an MG Maestro, some Jags. Nearly 40mins long so I haven't watched it all (and it might be a "special" person who does) but given the principle subject matter is traffic on the roads of a south coast town it's fascinating just to dip in and out of for a reminder of times gone by.

Very nostalgic, not bad camera footage from back then, may do the same run with a Go Pro for comparison some day. Showing my age here, I remember driving around in my Vauxhall Cresta PA back in the good old 60's and paying the equivalent then of just 5.49p per litre = 4 gallons for a £1 Oh how times have changed.weeping

Fuel prices must have remained fairly steady during the 80's. In 1987/88 I worked in a small Shell petrol station in Truro, Cornwall and 4* was £1.75 a gallon and diesel was £1.64 a gallon then, think 2* was about £1.71.

Those were the days!
