Warranty nearing an end
Discussion
Hi guys, looking for some advice and a few pointers as the Warranty on the noble is due to run out. I got the car from Bespoke and the guys have been really helpful but being over 420 miles away is causing a bit of a problem. Skips been great talking me through issues requiring fixed but I can only do so much of it myself. If anyone can advise of similar problems or fixes for the below woud be really appreciatted.
- Air-con is leaking when running cold, stripped out the lower panel below cd player and footwell panel and the water is dripping through the black air-con box, I dried it off and again a drip formed through the box. Skip thinks its more than likely the drain pipe has came loose but i havent been able to find it looking from the inside.
- Went on a pistonheads run yesterday and for the majority of the run the battery light on the dash was flashing. One of the guys behind me also commented that when my sidelights were on they were flickering. What is the best way to go about tracing this fault?
- Exhast heatshield at the rear turbo rattling when the engine heats up, do people replace these of just adjust to stop the rattling.
- On downshifts there is a loud squeeling noise, think its maybe the exhaust rubbing as the engine lurches forward?
- After washing the car the speedo never seems to work for a good 20 minutes when you take the car out, as if water is making its way into the sensor on the hub, is this worthwhile replacing of just cleaning up?
Any help is appreciatted. Might ask if I can book the car into a local garage and have them look over it and try and fix these issues if bespoke are willing to cover the labour costs.

.
- check the two pipes that run into the box.sometimes it can leak from there but run down to the bottom of the box.
Also have a look to see if the box has any cracks. This will lead to water building up on the bottom. it is fairly common that the drain is blocked also.
- Firstly check to see if the car is producing enough voltage. First places to look are the battery or the Alternator
- do you mean the heatshield that goes over the turbo? This may just need adjustment and can come loose over time
- check the thread i posted a while back with video ( can't find the link on the iPhone) if it's a similar noise then it's normal
- they seem to do this when they are on the way out.may be time for a new sensor
Where are you based? normally these types of warrantys are not worth the paper they are written on
Personally i would call Jetstream Motorsport as not only are their prices better, and more knowledgable (imho) but based on previous with the company you mention I wouldn't go back.

Hi,
Yep drainage pipe has come off i would say, might be difficult to access, i never actually looked to see where it originates, but check the gap just above the tunnel and the underside of the black air box. I imagine it is attached somewhere inside the airbox.
Squeeling on down change, could be the clutch release bearing, try blipping the throttle on downchange. Not sure how an exhaust could make a squeeling noise.
Rear heat shield needs tightening up, take off IC box to access the fixings, there is another below which bolts to the head, again check it is tightened up, i also put antivibration pads on mine.
Electrics playing up like that, it could be that some of your wires are melting, check local to front turbo and inside tunnel, or it could be that the wire to alternator is loose again check local to front turbo.

I second the Jetstream advise. Get it to them if you can.
With regards to the speedo, Jetstream just fixed that problem for me by replacing the speedo sensor. I think it costs around £65 plus some labour time. I'm not sure what model you've got but I have a 3R and the speed sensor is inside the drivers side wheel hub.

Thanks for the help guys. Im glasgow based so a fair way away from jetstream etc. Ive checked the pipes leading into the aircon box etc and dried off the box and the drips are forming from the box so must be small hairline cracks on this. Would unblocking the pipe resolve this or should i be looking to replace the box? Worst case if bespoke send me the parts I will pay the labour to get them fixed / attempt most of it myself but I want to be able to know exactly what I should be looking for. The electrics one is a weird one wasnt sure if it was related to leaks onto the fusebox area but havent used the aircon in a while and the fault is still occuring. Might have to get a voltmeter and start checking different area. WIll arrange to get a new sensor for the speedo, it is a 3R and is at the drivers side hub. WIll keep you posted with how I get on.

You are closer to Jetstream than Bespoke!
You can try and use some sealant on the hairline cracks on the heater matrix box. Obviously do it when it's dry and leave for 24 hours.
araldite works well i sealed a radiator with it many years agoYou can try and use some sealant on the hairline cracks on the heater matrix box. Obviously do it when it's dry and leave for 24 hours.
if you do not need the heater just blank off the pipes that feed it
Euan, There is an issue with the tunnel wiring that can cause the light plus a battery drain. The easiest option is just to rewire I'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere about it. Sorry I missed you at the weekend I left from the hotel just after 2 with thhe rest but not sure where those who eat elsewhere went!
Thanks Gordon will have a look into that one. Going to get it in to the garage my friend works at to get a good look at it. Yeah we got rejected st the door at the 1st place for something to eat and than just headed off from there about half 2., I needed petrol after burning off a tank over about 115 miles! Oops! Will get a catch up at some point, hopefully with these wee issues sorted!

I filled up in Milngavie drove up to the Ballahulish Hotel and back to Milngavie and still had quarter of a tank left with some very spirited driving!!! Gassing Station | Noble | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
