Interior Dehumidifier

Hi All,

Does anyone have any suggestions of a good interior dehumidifier ?

My car will be back from it's rebuild soon and I will store it in an unheated garage. Although the garage is watertight, it sometimes feels damp in the winter, so I thought it might be a good idea to put something inside just in case.

I thought about these but perhaps there is a better alternative ?

I don't want to have something plugged in or on batteries as the garage has no power.

Caravan places do big bags of silica gel in a cotton bag to absorb damp air in caravans during winter storage.
Every now and again take them out the car and dry them out in the oven.

Also if you lay an old carpet on the floor it helps keep the damp out.

This kind of thing. I found something on Ebay, can't recall name but had a picture of a Penguin on the bag.



ETA Pingi is the stuff from Ebay (can't access Ebay on work computer).

My mum got me some white lidded trays, look like large Britta water filter capsules containing silica crystals.. she got them from poundshop or something similar they are also advertised in the Sunday supplements... they are very cheap and work a treat and all you have to do is check and empty them each fortnight... i'll have a look and see if i can find one for you...
