We're looking to take the kids away for their first holiday abroad next summer. They will be 4 and 7, boy and girl.

Not looking for somewhere mega expensive, just something clean and plenty for the kids to do. Budget around 2.5 - 3k.
Can anyone recommend any places they have been to?
Thanks

We used to take our 3 to Mark Warner in Lakitira, Kos. Loads of clubs for the kids where they do wind surfing and sailing as well as tennis plus there are included sailing and wind surfing for the adults whilst the kids are off your hands. There are evening clubs for the kids too and the youngest ones are actually put in little beds after a story or video and can be picked up still sleeping at 11pm.

The only problem with Lakitira tho' is that it is half board and drinks are extra, cue all the dad's queuing up to settle bills at the end of the week looking ashen faced.

I remember going for two weeks at a cost of around £3k for the 5 of us but the drinks, snacks and ice cream bill coming to just under 2000 Euros yikes

I took my kids to Crete in August staying at the 4* All inclusive Nana Beach resort.

Excellent cottage style accommodation, clean and well appointed. The hotel resort is quite large, 5 swimming pools, various kids clubs, private beach etc.
Loads of free activities including scuba diving, winsurfing, kayaking etc.

Evening entertainment was pretty good to be fair as was the food.

Most importantly my kids loved it there, 6 & 8.

The only criticism was the airport.

Next year we are staying here

Recommended to us by friends and comes highly regarded on tripadvisor.

We went to Mark Warner's Lakitira, Kos last year and their new resort Levante, Rhodes this year. They are very well organised for young kids with lots of supervised activities so you can enjoy your day, if you want. On both occasions we upgraded to full board so just paid for the drinks. Make sure to cover the kids, we went in July and September and it was rather hot.
