Switches?????

Gents,

I have two switches in the drivers side under the steering wheel, one is black and looks a little old school has a lengthy stalk and is next to the cig lighter, doesn't seem to do anything... the other is a more modern chrome small stalked switch which is not wired into anything..... Anybody got anything similar? Anybody know what these are for???

Sounds like a reasonable guess... but lets face it they could be anything a PO fancied... Ejector seat?

Having said that, if I fitted a fan override I'd want some sort of indicator lamp so i'd know when it was on - is there anything like that nearby?

There's a blue light diode on the steering column case? Another thing I wondered what it was...

Alarm warning light ?

Or fake alarm warning light, switched on by one of those switches?

Fan over-ride is a good guess for one of the switches and maybe, going back to the alarm thing, a simple ignition circuit cut-out?

Weird... neither switch seems to do anything... doesn't cut out the fan, does start the fan... nothing seems to be affected by either of them... the blue light doesn't do anything either.... so maybe it is an fake alarm light...

I have an auto electrician coming round next week so i may get him to look at this as well...
