Anyone else in for this?

Myself, Neil Bolton and Abarth Chris are all heading up.

Assuming wales does not submerge in the meantime any others entered?

Yup! Will be interesting, as whilst I've been banging in the road miles all year, I've not ridden dirt at all within said same year!

Last year was a giggle, the hike-a-bike about 1/2 round aside...

That was brutal. A lot harder than last year, and IME harder than the Dyfi. I binned it about 6-7 times, including once into a tree and once head first into a river. Fun times

I entered last year only managed the shortest route.

Couldn't make it this year, what made it harder than last?

Didn't do this last year so don't have a comparison...

Bugger me that was a tough day out. Felt a lot harder than Dyfi and I think my time was about half an hour longer for the same distance so that makes sense.

Apart from abouut 30 minutes in a dark place, it was generally a lot of fun. I like these because they are a fair old way but the decents are pretty techy in places. I had to walk/jump down one mud bank before a river crossing, didn't fancy riding that after about 40kms non stop at the time!

The last part after getting to the carpark (and going up the other side of the valley) was tough and a real head-f because I thought we were done/nearly done. Not so.

Fun times, well organised, some funny banter on the way round and generally a great day out.

Hurt today.

Was there two distances? Which did you do?

Will do it next year and train for it, Coed Y Brenin is where I ride most now, so if I can nail the climbs then be in with a good shot of doing the longer distance.

30Km and 60Km. IME the enduro differs a LOT fro regular CYB: the climbs are longer and there're more of them, there's more tech stuff, a LOT more mud, and the non-trail/non-motorway descents are a lot, lot tougher!
