I have a 4.0ltr pre-cat with the oil pump cover / cap now removed. There are lots of scores on the cap that houses the pressure relief valve and the relief value bore is messy. The cap bolts onto the housing that the gears rotate in. I could really do with a new one.

The pump housing is not too bad but thought that I might change that while I am at it but the only front cover for sale (the front cover houses the oil pump gears) is £410 on ebay yikes The gears, spring and relieve valve are all relatively cheap. Anyone know where I can get a new oil pump cap from and even a new front cover if it is cheap enough, while I am at it.

Thanks in advance

Got to be a good improvement oil pump wise.

Do our pre cat cranks have the long keyway?

Where does the filter go or is that set up for some sort of remote filter.

I think its a common issue due to muck in the oil getting pumped around (its pre the oil filter). RPI used to sell the bits, so may be worth giving them a call.

Thanks for the offer. There are some new caps on ebay but they are for the pre-76 rovers. Racing Green have ended up finding me a good second hand one and fitting new internals, so hopefully all will be well.
