Ok so I am in the market for a change of car, current one is hitting 105,000 miles so I figure I will get rid before it becomes a headache for maintenance.

My problem is what I get! My budget is 25k. It can be a 2 seater, hot hatch or a jag type cruiser.

So suggestions please with the following criteria in mind, none of which are deal breakers.

1. I am sick of being ripped of for fuel so something not to heavy on the old mpg would be nice. Not vital as my last 2 cars are Mondeo ST220 and a Noble M12, more of a desire.

2. Doesn’t need to be family minded. Kids are growing up and the wife has a car if we need to all go somewhere together.

3. I do about 15-20k a year, some of which is motorway, so a little comfort and power would be nice.

4. Maybe a little comfort would be nice. After the Noble I have realised that I am not getting any younger and don’t bend like I used to.

So what do you all recommend?

Can it be bi-fuel? I would like some solar panels on the roof.

Funnily enough I have looked at that. Not over whelmed though I must confess.

Yup, mine is bi-fuel, I get the equivalent of 37mpg, and still the power and sound of a lovely 6.0 Litre Chevy V8 under the bonnet!

But that will drink fuel?

So if that kind of car is ok then I would go for a S5. You can go RS5 but they said the car was ruined over the S5. The latest ones are better but out of price range.

S5 would be my everyday runner choice with that budget and of course the Noble as the weekend car.

But again any 3.0+ diesel would be a good choice. Once chipped, loads of torque.

Bondy, I haven't ruled out another Noble. I did say none of the points were deal breakers, so low fuel consumption isnt vital.

Cool,

So if no weekend toy is on the list then an S5 would be my choice.

However, I would want a toy so I would get a 3R Noble and stretch a few more K and Get a Leon FR for work.

I'm almost there but only managed a TDI Leon. One day ill get the FR so I can have even more fun driving to and from wk everyday and still get a kick at the weekend in the Nob biggrin
