Hi all went to see a 2007 wagon for sale on eBay today.here is link
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2007-SUBAR...-/271064296...
Looks very nice and went out for a test drive and mechanically it's sound. Drives very well.only problem it's been a cat c in 2009 and then a cat d in 2011.
After market Front bumper doesn't quite fit true to body.apart from that it looks good
Thoughts please as to whether I should avoid like the plague.
How much would it be worth to buy
Thanks

That's all I'd need to read to decide not to buy it.

It'll always be a nightmare to sell on.

Where doesn't the bumper fit well? If it's as it wraps around the side, then a common issue with replacement bumpers (even OEM ones) is the little plastic clips used to hold the bumper tight to the car. After needing a new bumper earlier this year on my MY05 Legacy, and requiring a number of returns back to insurance repair shop for this purpose, I've seen a couple of others incorrectly fitted. They break the clips when fitting them if not careful.

If that's the problem, it's an easy fix.

I know what you're saying but I wouldn't be looking to sell it for at least 3-5 years if at all

It's just below both the headlights as it bends round the wings

By that time it'll be worth plenty for parts alone.

Personally, I'd be afraid.

It would have taken a significant amount of damage to have rendered a 2007 Subaru beyond economic repair in 2009.

For it's current auction price (about 2.5k) maybe.. for it's Buy it Now price of 5.5k no chance!

It's only a WRX and there are plenty of them out there - I'd look for one that hasn't been crashed twice to be honest. It's also had 7 owners and the presence of a BOV would suggest that at least the current owner hasn't got a clue about these cars.

In one word.. RUN!

Yup!!
Not a hope in hell you'll ever sell that unless it's pennies!! It also gives you an indication as to how exactly it's been treated, very badly! Each owner has reemed it to death then a couple smash it to bits. A Cat C for a couple of years old is going to be a pretty big shunt.
I'd say it's still strong, straight money at the buy it now price. To me it would need to be £3k to make it worth buying.

Also lists 7 previous owners...for a 5 year old car! Keep looking, OP!
