my mr2 begging to now!
Discussion
well ive had 7 mr2's now 2 turbos and 5 n/a's ....love them to bits, i love how they handle and how they deliver there power, ive had a few cars inbetween them (corsa 1.2, ford probe lol, mitsubishi gto, vw polo) and i just cant get enough of them. couple of pics of previous ones

just pics i could fine...
anyway moving on to the current one, i live in blackpool and found this in wigan for 650, i wasnt to sure about the colour on the advert pictures, but when i got there it was a different matter i liked it alot! anyway test drove it and the clutch was slipping like mad, blagged the guy to drop it to 500, and off i went, barely drivable gettin back to my end! got it back ripped box off and changed clutch (66 quid clutch) winner!!!
when i got her home!

moving on next thing i did was shove qa japspeed exhaust on there ...neighbours loved me haha

standard apart from the alloys!
i kept loads of bits from my black turbo for this one, alloys bonnet, spoiler, some other bits
anyway swapped wheels, bonnet, engine cover and spoiler over to which she looked like this...

omp steering wheel..

mates mk1-

and my present for his future conversion

its stayed n/a for a while, but i split up with my girlfreind of 5 and half years, she moaned constantly about me and my cars (b
h) so when we split up i thought f
k it im doing the turbo conversion! i found a rev1 turbo full car for £1000 , paintwork was f
ked but engine only had 62.000 and that was in KMH still ....mwhahahahaha
the interior should have been in a museum , no marks what so ever, the guy never drove the car , just had cambelt done and i was frapping about it!!
and got it home!

and even a standard turbo timer (kinda)

well lets not waste time...

shes free!!

old n/a engine out!

i knew that bonnet would come in handy!

sorting out turbo bits, and swapping fuel tanks!

shes in wooooohooo

new radiator, very pleased with it

raintray painted black

bye bye donor

new japspeed turbo exhaust much quieter than the n/a one

rev 3 lights put on and carbon wrapped the center panel

and then the fun began haha! changed the standard airfilter to a k and n panel one, i dont want a iduction kit for this the last turbo had one and go soaked due to the rain tray!
i did this conversion 5 months ago , and its still going strong now!, only thing i am thinking of doing is getting the ct20b and getting boost to redline
thanks for looking

Brilliant thread. You have a new admirer!
Car looks brilliant. How does it sound and go? Was it worth all the work/time?
That exhaist looks really low, how is it going over bumps?
And have you had to MOT it yet? Curious about emissions etc...
Sorry for all the questions, just got my own mr2. Rev3 N/A.

hey cheers lads, well it was deffinatly worth it, ive had a turbo before which was a rev 3, so abit more power than the rev 1 and 2's but i cant notice the difference! pulls really well! and it was worth every penny , total for conversion was 1150 for everything , lol but i wouldnt do it on my drive again!! well it still has the cat on it, but my good mate is a MOT tester , so i didnt worry , but we tested the emissions after i finished it to see what is was like and it would have only just failed, but i did a full service after that and it should have brought it down to a pass but we didnt test it again.
all in all mate it is deffinatly worth it , id say give it a go mate if your confident, but just make sure you let the insurance company know about the engine swop i didnt pay to much extra just 150 more i think, cant remmeber, anyway ive just bought back my first red n/a, sold it me pal and he has polybushed the whole car front back and engine mounts, only last month i bought it back for scrap value as he has just joined the BMW world (sigh) and im going to replace all mine with the poly bushes
and i like the spoiler haha it grew on me!! but i am trying to find a rev5 spoiler at the moment but eith cost and arm or leg or theres none about
