What have you got? And how do you rate them? I've had good tyres in the past, however all cars respond differently and was wondering pending my purchase.......

On my Second Set of Good year Eagle F1'S asymmetric 2's and they are first class, really predictable and great in the wet. I can't look past them as a road tyre and even for the odd track day they felt good.

Khumo V70A hard compound, OK in the wet but simply increadible in the dry good in the damp as well, just best to avoid standing water.

Last well into the bargin.

225/35/18 Goodyear assymetrics here too. I did have T1R's @ 225/40/18 but they seemed to wear the inside edge and tramline, the previous set of T1R's @ 225/35/18 didn't though

Continentals on the front & Toyos on the back.

I had some Toyos on the front & the car used to tramline terribly, to a point of feeling dangerous. Not sure why... Possibly the fancy tread pattern ?

Either way, I'm sticking to a straight forward basic pattern on the front from now on.

I actually liked the factory Bridgestone SO2`s they gave a good feel of the tarmac at the rear for me, but i struggled to get hold of the fronts so swapped to Toyos T1R`s i found them fine & i used to have them on my old 200sx but rear tyres never lasted long in that!! smile

T1Rs on mine, brilliant tyres. Very grippy in the dry and progressive in the wet. No tramlining.

What size Asy2s have you got Scotty? My fronts are the same as Mr Pant Sniffer by my tyre place couldnt get the 2s, only the 1s. Guessing your fronts might be 235s?

Anyway, F1 Assyms here. Just swapped back to them as I ran Toyo 888s for 18 months for sprints and track days but they where a horrid road tyre. Obviously less grip now but so much nicer drive, and the rain doesn't fill me with quite as much dread (didn't have single panic attack returning from Spa on Monday afternoon in all that shocking rain)

Hi Fubar

I am running on the front 225/35/18 and rears are 255/40/18 in the Asymmetric 2's

I have Asymmetric 1 on my rL7's and they are 245/40/17 rears and 235/40/17 front. I use these as my track wheels.

Gotcha. Must have been the 40 profile rears that were the problem then, as I stuck with 35s. Going from 40 profile 888s where I had to have the front arches shaved, back to 35 profile 'normal' tyres has made the car look under tyred lol

I know what you mean this is the 35's on the front of mine and the 40's on the rear. Not much give on the front for pot holes eek

Just a lick of rubber like it has been painted on.

Had them on my cerb, felt really good and wore well. As good as Goodyear F1's and Uniroyal rain sport I had before.

Thanks,i need some new rears, always used Toyos(T1S & T1R`s) but don`t like the new tread pattern on the new Toyos so thought i would try something else....may give the Falkens a go.

Do not even consider Hankook Ventus Plus, they start off on the edge of 'entertaining' but end up on the wrong side of lethal (not tried them on the Cerb but had a pair on the rear of my other car, for about a week).

And bizzarely, in this month's evo, Harry M reckons that the old part worn Hankooks are better than the recently (hand) made Pirelli Super de Doopa whatsits.

My local place keeps trying to push Vredesteins' (or however its spelt) performance tyre. Have to admit, they were, price wise, VERY tempting a few weeks ago

Couldn't disagree more..

Used to daily the above turd on a set, for 2 years. Went to the Nurburgring with them. Where as other lesser powered E30's tyres were going off, the RS2's took the whole lap at good pace in their stride. Progressive, sticky. 'Good' in the wet, wore well and evenly, didn't tramline, only time they were ste is in the snow.

Truely disappointed they are discontinued and RS3 is not going to be sold in the EU.
