How many luxury high end cars can be had with a manual gearbox?

The Jag XJ40 could with the 3.6 and 4.0 engines. But they are rare (haven't seen or found one in 4 months worth of looking)

BMW 7 Series could be had with a manual on the continent, but I'm not sure which engine versions.

Jag S-Type, but only as a V6.

Are there any others in this sort of class/size of vehicle that can be had for £6k or under?

The X300 XJ6 was available with a manual transmission, and although uncommon, there's a few for sale at the moment, I've linked one below.

You can get an e38 728/730/735 in manual.

You can get an Alpina B5 3.2 in manual.

If I were on the lookout for a high end car with a manual box I think the E39 would really be the only option I'd look at. Not that you would be spoiled for choice anyway.

What's wrong with a decent auto anyway for this type of car?

Is the 5-series someone else mentioned?

OP, where are you drawing the line? 7-series, A8, S-class - or lower?

E39 M5 is also in budget - at least for purchasing. Care and feeding are another thing altogether.

Audi A8's (and S8's of certain ages) can be had with a 'manual box, although I can't find any.

I saw a 725 tds in LHD with a manual gearbox once. A weird part of me wants one. Shame they were Europe only (I went home and researched).

Lol that would appear to be an e32 and an e65, not an e38 wink

Range Rover P38 Diesel originally came with a manual and can probably be sourced for a fair bit less than 6k!

This.

I had a manual S-type and it was a great car to drive and could be nursed to give good mpg vs the offical figures for the auto (38mpg was my best from a tank) but drive it at all normally and you'll not get much better than the auto and tbh the manual box encouraged you to hang onto those gears a bit longer. Only advantage then is acceleration and control but I'd say thats wasted on a 'luxury' car. If I got another though I'd be looking at the supercharged V8 auto.

Did they do the 4.0 x300 with a manual as well (in non XJR guise?)
