They are supremely comfortable, there was a 52 plate went through a local auction about 6 months ago for about £700, it was quite rough though and sounded like it had a misfire, if that goes for similar then it's a cheap wafty barge if you're feeling brave

Cheap because it's crap. Ever driven one? I have. On a Renault 'arrive & drive' weekend @ Kemble a few years ago.

It broke down after 5 miles....... Horrid thing.

This one has apparently managed 94,000 miles already, so using your totally factual, logical experince, I calculate that the car has been back to Renault just under 19000 times in 9 years, or approximately 5 to 6 times a day.

I'd not buy one either - just not my cup of tea.

I'm sure it's great when everything's working, but the problem with Renaults of this vintage is the electrics were actually made of cheese.

A Renault is the only car that gets the mileage clocked forward to prove its done some mileage lol.
If its anything like my old 4 year old Laguna 2 prepare to have deep pockets and plenty of breakdowns and join the AA but make sure you get the expensive get you home package as your going to be using it a lot.
There is a reason why Renault have halved their model range and that's because most of them are badly built crap that never work.
Run a mile, saying that you will to do a lot of running or walking if you buy one.

A Mk1 yes?

Great cars, had one as a company car many moons ago, turbo diesel 'sport' it was after these they went (seriously) downhill.

The 3.5 V6 petrol is from Nissan - it's the VQ35DE.

It's in different tune in the Vel Satis, but it's basically the same engine.

I had a mk1 RTi 16v it was a great car it's anything that's post 2001 you don't want to touch with a barge pole.
