The brakes on my girlfriends Pug 106 are knackered. Fortunately this was realised just as she was pulling out on a quiet road.

There's a bit more work needing doing that probably puts it beyond economical repair although it's generally fairly tidy.

Unfortunately it's LHD and Spanish registered. Anyone know a London based scrappy that might be prepared to take it. She's called a couple without luck. As it doesn't have a V5 is this going to be simply impossible?

It's not safe to drive with the brakes as they are and it's now picking up tickets and it'd be better to have it taken away before the council get to it.

Any ideas?

Put it on gumtree. £50 cash.

When bloke with van collects it, take his money.

Write to the Spanish DVLA and say it has been scrapped on x date to mr smith, any road, London ?

For £50 some unregistered scrappy will take it off you, at a guess,

Could you not just leave the keys in the ignition and see if it disappears?

If it's not registered in the UK, the DVLA won't be able to trace the chassis number.. take it a few streets over, remove the licence plates, and let the council take it..

Dumping it and making it a council 'problem' would simply place an additional burden on the local taxpayers.

These people may be worth a call. If they can't help dispose of the Pug, they may be able to advise someone who can.

Your local Fire Station may take it, ours are always after scrapers to practice on, they won't pay you but at least you will have got shot of it and you can also bask in the reflective glory that you have helped your local community.
