Route advice please.

Hi

I need to get from Reigate (J8M25) to Selkirk and back next week..

Route Planners give the M40/M6 and M1 routes are pretty similar times (6:45) so if you had to be in Selkirk at 9:00am on Thursday and back in reigate at Midnight Saturday.. what would be your prefered route and deperture times?

I happy to drive through the night, but I've no idea of what the taffic is like anywhere north of London!

M40/M6 tends to be quicker from my experience as people drive [u]fast[/u]on the M40, the M1 tends to be busier and the average speed check/work sections J15-J10 tend to slow you down.

Coming out of Reigate just make sure you check for road works/closures but since you'll have to leave in the wee hours of the morning it should be smooth sailing and then coming back on Saturday shouldn't be a problem tends to be the quietest night of the week.
