Again could I ask for people’s views on the relative merits of the different upgrade kits. The starting point is that I am just having the 15inch OZ’s refurbished so I will be sticking with those on the front but also don’t really want to spend a eleven hundred pounds on the Alcon upgrade – good as it maybe. Are there any more ‘cost effective solutions’ that people have experience of – I have seen threads on the WMS kit although not sure of cost, which people seem to rate highly. I am thinking of staying with a 285mm kit unless there are good reasons not to.
As usual, all help/thoughts/experience gratefully received !!

Thanks
Marco

Cheap and really effective upgrade for the front is the cosworth 887/888 calipers. These are used with sierra cosworth 2 wheel drive discs which are 283mm. As i say very effective and cheap.

A really cost-effective way of upgrading the brakes on a 4L is to fit a set of std brakes off a 5L along with a decent set of pads. They should be readily available. David.

Thats not that easy because the rear hub assembly needs changing .I did this with my 4l Chimaera ,managed to purchase new later calipers and carriers for the rear and replacment hubs from a Cosworth breakers.

My fronts are the 887 888 Cosworth calipers with the 278mm discs. There very good except a bit heavy .

my wms kit, which consisited of callipers, mounting brackets, pads, new discs was around £500. very good, and very light compared to the old calliper, and fits under my 15 gottis.
