Hi all,

Well it's a couple of years since I sold my first duratec R500 seq and looking at getting another, spending time overseas this winter in a perfect spot for a Caterham but it warm here (30+C daily) and the only concern is the heat the car used to transfer into the footwells in the UK.

Did anyone solve this issue? Always wondered it taking the plastic rad air deflector out so more air flowed around the engine and box might have helped but in the UK it wasn't that big an issue as hot days were somewhat rare.

Also, anyone looking to sell at the moment as of course I'm looking for an Autum bargain.... (Loads for sale when I sold mine and as usual sod all for sale now I'm buying! Lol). Ideally aero screen simple spec as no need for weather gear here.

Thanks all

They started using these to duct air straight into the footwell on the C400 race cars after a few melted race boots:

If you do an image search you'll see it fitted to the drivers side of the bonnet, and it feeds into a tube that is part of the pedal box cover. I can take some pictures of mine to show you if you need it.

They don't fit the duct anymore.

There are reflective heat kits available from CC, think they fit as standard. They fit inside the tunnel, i have an extra one on the outside of the tunnel, sourced from Fauldsport - have no issues at all on either racecar.

Pretty nasty burns to legs, feet and toes was quite common in R300's around 2009/10
