The Yellow Dog Project

That is a good idea, but without massive publicity I can't help but think there would only be a real minority in the know.
Something like this would be perfect for my dog as she is a really nervous timid girl, but without others knowing what it means its almost useless
she has her dogs trust harness and living in the area of the local branch meaning a lot of local dog owners know the situation is the best we have at the minute

How can we help get this publicised? Our little girl is not bothered byother dogs (she ignores them) but she is very scared and would appreciate people not trying to stroke her all the time. She ;eaves all that sloppy stuff to our other dog who loves any form of attention - even from cats if there's nothing else available!
I really like this BUT!
My bessie has a little Terrier (Lolly), she adopted her and soon Lolly started to show her undesirable behaviour. Weeing in the house and very dog aggressive.
My friend has spent a lot of money on dog therapy and now Lolly is OK most of the time, but she still puts Lolly on the slip lead when we meet other dogs on a walk.
Now if you see an owner putting the lead on their dog as you approach, one might think, Oh there might be a problem I better call my dog in and at least put their lead on.
Oh no! The majority of people let their dog come bounding up and then are unable to recall it especially when Lolly starts kicking off.
It's stressful, sets Lolly back and is embarrassing.
Although I really really love the concept, I don't think the average ignoramus would acknowledge this or be aware of such a campaign.

Really it should be the owners wearing the ribbon.
In the vast majority of cases they're the ones with the social anxiety that causes the unwanted behaviour.
Last week Mac went up to a staffie that he regularly plays with off the lead. This time it was on the lead and as Mac walked up to say hello the staffie's owner pulled it away in panic (god knows why... she knows us and they always play really well) so obviously it reacted to its owner's action and grabbed Mac by the shoulder and held on for about 10 seconds (with Mac screaming like a baby - but he's tougher than he looks and there was no damage done).
In common cases like that the owner needs a slap rather than a ribbon.

I agree with you. People need to socialize their dogs not go into a panic when another dog is within 100m.
Well they could if other people would control their dogs (off lead) and not allow them to approach dogs that are on the lead because they are currently dog aggressive. If your dog has no recall and it is off the lead then it is you that deserves the slap.
