Got a track day on Saturday but my driver's side door has started popping open on some left hand turns - not ideal!.
Need a quick fix. Any ideas what I should check first to solve.
Any help gratefully received.

I had an identical problem after a Harewood meeting earlier this year. Took the lock assembly apart, all OK then realised that the boot had been rather full.

Cause: something swinging around in the boot had put pressure on the emergency door release cable under the light unit. This opened the door when turning a sharp corner.

Slackened the cable to give a good inch of slack and problem cured.

It could of course be an out of adjustment lock or one with a worn catch mechanism.

had similar problem with mine also, return spring on the release mechanism in boot had gone weak..possibly due to repeated use as i had an electrical fault with the door lock solanoids.

Not sure if it helps but when putting the whale tail back into mine I clearly moved the cable slightly and the passenger door would no longer latch unless I pushed the interior handle closed. Took the whale tail off again and tweaked the cable location and it has been fine ever since. I think these cables may be a bit on the edge.

You don't have the Modwise boot release do you?
If you do, have a look in the access panel behind your seat. The actuating switch is probably stopping things working properly.
Though this is usually fitted to the passenger side if you follow the instructions.

Thanks for all the rapid replies. I do have the Modwise boot relaease (though it's not working at mo) but it is fitted to the passenger side. I had a little fiddle (ooh er missus) when I got home. The lock was dirty and one of the retaining screws was a little loose. Cleaned & tightened things and it seems ok now. I will have to give it a more thorough going-over when I have time. At least I know what to look for now.
Thanks again to you all.
