The Championship with 6 races to go
Discussion
Here's how it stands:
Drivers:
Alonso 194
Vettel 165
Raikkonen 149
Hamilton 142
Webber 132
Button 119
Alonso:
Has the consistency to keep getting good points finishes, but the car is, at best, the 3rd best out there so I can't see him scoring more than about 70 more points.
Vettel:
For me the favourite to take the title, so long as reliability is there. He needs a smattering of 2nd and 3rds with a win or two to overhaul Alonso.
Raikkonen:
Has lost touch recently with Alonso's points total and unless he finds 2 or 3 wins plus podiums in the other races then he's out of it.
Hamilton:
Has the fastest car and he's driving well. I think he needs to score about 120 points to take the title (so 3 wins and 3 2nd places) and he could do it with the car he's got. Would Button support him now though, given his departure to Mercedes?
Webber:
Poor run of races has taken him out of it. A shame, as he looked to have the measure of Vettel a few races ago.
Button:
Needs a miracle, 5 wins at least and Hamilton finishing immediately behind.
Constructors:
Red Bull 297
McLaren 261
Ferrari 245
Lotus 231
I can't see anyone other than McLaren winning this one.

My 10 pence worth...
Alonso: 3rd best car but 1st best driver. Might not win another race this season but I think he'll be near enough to stay top of the points. favourite.
Vettel: If anyone is going to nick it off him this guy will. Close 2nd favourite.
Raikkonen: Car looks like its been left behind in terms of development now, shame because what a comeback. 6th favourite.
Hamilton: After Singapore qualifying he looked really in with a shout, the breakdown was a total disaster, just too big an ask now I think. 3rd favourite
Webber: Too far behind. Joint 4th favourite with Button.
Button: See above.

- Rubs crystal ball*
And rightly so, he has fought tooth and nail this season with a 'bad' car and has clearly demonstrated why he is one of the all-time best. Triple champion – Bravo!
Constructor: McLaren
All in all has it been the best car on the grid throughout the season? Qualifies well & races decent, very strong since the summer break, should bring home more points than RB. Maybe…
With all the drivers consistently taking points from one another I would very much expect Alonso to stay focused on beating (or minimising lost points) to the '2nd place man' at every race.
Plus the majority of the remaining circuits are high-speed jobbies;
Ferrari - new rear wing should be more suited
McLaren - have a car that works well everywhere in every situation
Red Bull - not the best car at high-speed

That is exactly how I see it.Driver: Alonso

I think it's Alonso's to lose and Vettle's to win.
Lewis is out, he needs to take Alonso for 8.6 points a race to get ahead, so in real terms he has to win all the remaining races AND Alonso would need to finish lower than 2nd.
He had a decent chance before Singapore because of McL's pace, half a chance after his DNF, but now he's signed with Merc almost none, he'll be kept in the dark about new developments and team data, he might still get upgrades, but without the knowledge that goes with them he won't be able to really exploit them.
Kimi's in a slightly better possition of course, but I can't see his current performance translating into a great last min surge.
Of course anything can still happen, Vet and Alo might take each other out in the next two races and blow the whole thing open.
