"One of the most spectacular buildings emerging in London is located not far from the city's famous Tower Bridge. This will become the new headquarters of the Greater London Authority and thus the new 'home' of the Mayor of London. It is being constructed by Norman Foster, who is one of Britain's leading architects. Scheduled completion date: end of 2003. The entire project costs 121 million euros........"

Aren't us taxpayers generous! How nice of us.

It's known locally as 'The Testicle'. If you've seen it, you'll know why.

Why is the estimated cost quoted in euros? I live in England, this building is in England, the currency used in England is the Great British Pound so quote the price in pounds.

Are they trying to hide the actual cost from people who can't work it out or getting us ready for when B-Liar tries to hand control of our economy to the Eurocrats?

It's probably because they got a european contractor to do the work, hence the price in euros..

No it's because these BLiars want to introduce the Mickey Mouse Euro, so they put it into all government propaganda (for the best example see the "Speed Kills" mantra)to influence the numpties.
Speaking to everybody here in Euroland, all countries that had decent currencies want their own back, it's only the eyties, greeks and iberians who gain from it. All our prices have gone up to pay for this enormous socialist blunder (D,F,NL,B,) some at least 20%, now that's inflation for you...
Some of the local restaurants even tried to exchange the DM for the Euro 1:1 (real 1.95:1). Needless to say their now whinging why they've no customers. In Germany it's now called the Teuero (teuer=dear, expensive)

Regardless of the currency, it's money that could have been spent on the NHS. Then maybe my brother wouldn't have spent 36 hours on a trolley in a corridor with suspected meningitis. They couldn't even find him a pillow for ****s sake.
