My name is colonel c and I have just had a set of Kwik Fit Arrowspeed tyres fitted to my Mk IV Golf 1.8 GTI.
I'm feeling rather dirty right now.

My other car has really good tyres.... honest.

I found Arrowspeed 'okay' on my Clio, but they won't stand up to any sort of 'treatment'...

I had arrowspeeds on a 306 and they were fine. I was expecting the worst but wet and dry grip was OK.

Nexen on the other hand eek I have to drive my 1.5 Swift like it has a supercharged V8 in the wet as it'll spin the fronts in 2nd with partial throttle.

I'm going to bin them soon despite having loads of tread left.

This ^^^

I had 2 ditchfinders on the front of my Civic, I knew they were cheap, and as I do mostly Mway miles thought they would be OK.

I have just replaced all 4 (backs were original at 45K) and the car is transformed! The were not cheap I hasten to add! (Yokohama 225/35/19)

Hmm.. Not sure people are going to approve of my mx5 with 4 different types of ditch finder.

Ironically the worst is the goodyear, but that's because it's from 1872 and effectively have the same level of grip as a slippery salmon.

Our 206 (just a dumper for local stuff) has 4 ditch finders. I recently took it on a long run in the wet. A prize tw@t pulled out on me so I stood on the brakes. It honestly felt like I was speeding up when the front wheels locked!

I bought it with st tyres. My MR2 has T1Rs with 5mm tread all round wink

If you know you have crap tyres, you drive a little slower. Job's a goodun.

Just to add a slightly alternative view.

Those with an interest in tyres and a preference for expensive brands perhaps ought to read

http://www.tyrepress.com/News/20243.html

The Arrowspeed tyre isn't as bad as other budget brands and the article debunks the theory that cost = performance as expensive Goodyear and Continental tyres were WORSE in SOME tests compared to SOME of the budgets.

Got arrow speed on the laguna and they do actually seem ok if you don't push on to hard

You're not wrong! I've F1s on the front and Sunnys on the back. It makes perfect sense to me as my little IS200 has a teeny weeny amount of power but is rwd with a lsd.

Because they've 'got one over' on the mugs who pay over the odds for premium tyres, apparently.
