Hi all,

Have tried to get a picture but they are too small, so I shall try to explain as best as I can. Basically, me and the missus have noticed these little bugs pop up around the bedroom occasionally. They look like a tiny roll of dust/cotton that appear to be loosely attached to the wallpaper, dangling if you will. If you watch them closely, a little bug that looks like a very tiny maggot, will pop out the top and then go back in again.

We don't know what they are or how to get rid of them! 2-3 show up every few weeks, and it's driving us mad. We've gave the room a 100% clean top to bottom as well as looking for any sort of nests etc, but nothing unusual was found. The wierd thing is that they are only showing up in the one room, and they are only found on the walls, nowhere else.

HELP US PLEASE! hehe

Hmm it doesn't seem to be them. The things we are seeing are pure smooth white with a black tip, and are wrapped up in a wooly substance almost looking like a sleeping bag, but they must be unattached to this as they seem free to move out of the wool as we sometimes see them pop in/out.

Whatever they are, they have us stumped. Due to them only appearring in the bedroom, I thought it may be an infestation of some sorts, as there is no way it could be a cleanliness issue due to my missus being a clean freak. We have already given the room a thorough clean and inspection (Including moving out all the furniture and lifting the carpet!) but nothing untoward was found. They seem to be popping up randomly but luckily its only the odd one everynow and then. Thankfully they haven't started showing up in the bed/drawers, only the walls!

Still bloody annoying. To be honest I just want to know what creatures they are more than anything. I'm guessing from there smooth white appearence that they are probably a fly larvae of some sorts?

A little whitish thing about the size/shape of a grain of rice?

Case-bearing clothes moth.

These will eat your carpets and woolies, so get rid. Hoover everywhere and put moth-killing thingies in your drawers and wardrobes.

At a guess, the source of infestation will be the bathroom carpet.

Fekin carpet/clothes moths. Our house is infested with them and has been for the past 3 years. Our carpets look like they have been attacked by crop circle nuts. I have sprayed, hung repellant and walk around with my electric tennis bat but still they come.

Sometimes I find the eggs laid in eaten parts of the carpet and it's like a miniature copy of the scene when they first found the Space Jockey in the original Alien film.

Just asked the wife ( Mitie pest controlled tech ) they are called wooly bears and she says you need a pest tech in to sort as they can spread.
Depending on tenancy/insurance situation this maybe covered by them.
