I'm trying to submit an advert on the classifieds but it is trying to charge me, has it changed and you no longer get free ads?

You get free ads, just carry on when it prompts you to pay and it will automatically skip that step and you ad will be live, payment free.
This is no longer the case with the new classifieds system.

Nath V - I've updated your profile to have free ads. Apologies for any hassle.

Please don't troll every thread on this subject.

I've said before and I'll say again - free ads for older members are a great way of saying thanks to those who've supported the site for many years. We'll never take that away.

I've been on here since 2008 but I think my recent add charged me. I may be wrong though as the site jumps about on the iPad making me press all sorts of things accidentally

On my sales account that is, not this account.

Even as an old member I'd be happy to pay a reasonable amount for an ad. (Don't delete my free privilege just yet though!!)

This is the first place I look when I'm buying a car smile

Cheers. We think that £9.99 is pretty reasonable compared to everyone else even if you do have to pay, but we're happy to to be able to provide you with one for nowt anyway.

9.99 is very fair but I'd rather the option first. I don't think I had it although I used to!

Thought I'd continue this thread rather than a new one...

Matt - My advert went live on Sunday after some tweaks to get it sorted from your end - indeed I received a bit of interest first thing Monday...

Realised that my ad account is still tied to Leeds, rather than London - so I've just edited. Only problem is that the system is now trying to charge me to reinstate my ad?

Unsure if it's live too - ad status says live, and expired at the same time. Certainly can't find it in the classifieds, though I can from my dedicated URL.

Appreciate if someone could take a look...

Hi Matt, I seem to have the same issue as everyone else. It is saying that I now need to pay £9.99 for a premium ad and don't get the choice of a free standard ad. Can I still get access to free ads as before?

As far as I know PH have no intention to take away "grandfather" rights to free ads, it may be quicker to pm, Matt or one of the other techies & ask them to tick your box, though I'm sure they will help once they read this thread.
