What could I feed it?

It's a canary!

Feed it canary food hehe

ETA grab it or it will be dead in a few hours, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Looks like a Canary. Hard to tell if it's lost. Did it ask for directions? biggrin

As you can guess it is very tame...escaped?

I live in the centre of Edinburgh never seen a canary before...

Can I leave it, or will it die very quickly?

Also, perhaps better food suggestions, something I'll have in the flat.

It's unlikely to survive long in the wild.

keep it, put it in a dark box and it will go to sleep then phone the rspca.

It will be eaten if you leave it outside, it has a big neon coat on screaming eat me.

SPCA is on the way, the only issue is that I was meant to be in the pub 40mins ago!

Thanks for all the help so far!

I caught one of these cute little chaps about 2 months ago. Kept him for a week (they eat pretty much anything) and then passed him on to a friend of mine who has a flock of mixed birds (parakeet, budgie etc) that fly about her house.

Apparently he's doing very well and eating lots of brocolli.

They love brocolli heads if you have any hanging about, or random seed mixed, crushed nuts, fruit.

Well done for saving it, they die pretty quickly in the wild smile

Well to tie up this random event, as of last night it is now with the SPCA (Scottish RSPCA).

Kinda sad as it was a very cute, but I couldn't really keep it. I can hardly look after myself properly!

Again thanks for all the help.

Keep it. It'll save you money as you won't have to replace your carbon monoxide detector in the future!
