Anyone any ideas before I send it to the garage. For some reason the door from either inside or outside makes all the right noises when then button is pushed but won't open. Last time it opened I thought - maybe a bit of WD40 into the mechanism might help - and nope. The door has NOT dropped, it is something to do with the opening mechanism. Is this something I can tackle - or off to the garage? Any ideas ? Cheers chaps. Nick

Does the window drop? If so it may be a sticky solenoid. Mine does it if the door hasn't been used for a while. If I keep pressing the button then eventually it fires.

Take a look at the connection between the door and the body. Sometimes the pins fail to make a proper contact. It is a bit fiddly because you have to retract the plug into the door to take a look at the pins and widen them a bit so they fit better into the socket. It is a bajonett connector.
Alternatively you can exchange the door ecu (located in the center console behind the ashtray) from the driver to the passenger side to exclude that this one is the problem.
