Bizarre squeaky shrieky hissy noise

Was using the db9 in the morning - fine, nothing. Started her up a out an hour ago and started to hear what sounded like a toe being chewed up, then some squealing and what sounded like a high pitched hiss. Quite a cacophony. Drove for a while, noise now gone. It was coming from right in front if me, like it was behind my speedo or in the engine bay in fron of me. Any thoughts? Something to be worried about??

Something caught in between the front disc and pad? I have had that a couple times before, and it sounded a bit like your description. Although this didn't happen tome in the Aston I see no reason why it couldn't.

That doesn't seem so serious (unless u have ccms!).
Wouldn't it sound more 'distant' if it was brakes?

I had a screechy screams sound from behind the dash on my V8 and it was, eventually, diagnosed as a faulty reversing sensor control box, it had got moisture in it. Does it sound like the sound is coming from a speaker?

Maybe, and it would definately seem so if your windows were down, although the noise could more or less travel straight up the steering column. What made me think of it was that it seemed both pretty loud and short lived from your description. I suppose it's more/just as likely likely to be something Aston specific like Mr O mentioned...

The car was stationary. So come I think if it I doubt it would be the brakes. The reserve sensor thingy sounds plausible. I did at one point think it was coming out of the sound system. I even fiddled with the volume knob.

I've occasionally had a really short/sharp/loud/harsh noise when turning the engine over, sounded like it was some sort in interference coming from the stereo?!

Also had the stone stuck between the disc and guard which sounds awful but doesn't last long!
