Great stuff. Not strictly speaking a Grand Prix - Bergpreis translates as Mountain Prize. I love those huge hill climbs they used to hold around the Alps - there used to be a European Hillclimb Championship which covered events in France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. Pre-war the Silver Arrows used to compete, and after the war all sorts of machinery took part, but I think it eventually settled on 2-litre sports-racers; Porsche and Ferrari made cars specially for these events. Peter Schetty and Ludo Scarfiotti spring to mind as drivers for Ferrari, and Gerhard Mitter in the Bergspyder.

The late Jim Clark drove at Ollon-Villars one year in, of all things, an Indy Lotus 38 - I think it was to fulfil an earlier promise. If you've ever watched the Tour de France cycle race, you'll know about Mont Ventoux, the French round - that place is surreal. I think the Grossglockner was considered the "daddy" of them all.
