hi Folks,

Short Question: If one is making a bean stew and has a pressure cooker - do you still need to soak the beans overnights?

I'd say yes, as it reduces the cooking time.

Covering them with boiling water and soaking for 20 minutes is better than nothing.

you could do them for 5 minutes in the pressure cooker, then rinse and do them again

edit: remember they normally expand during soaking, don't overfill your pressure cooker!
