Good weekend with the new Griff - trip to MSport at Dovenby to see the Fiesta WRC being put together, followed by a day of drag racing at Kirkbride airfield.
All I can say is that the 1/4 mile is harder than it looks!
One of the organisers said that if they had an award for the most entertaining newcomer I'd have walked it...
Best I could do was 13.5 seconds. I'm told better tyres would help - was running on my road tyres, much to the amusement of my fellow competitors, but to be honest a lot more practice (and a bit more talent) would probably make a bigger difference
