Hi all,

I have just recently brought a new car, it is a dancer. I love it! (Toyota Yaris T Sport I might add) There is just one small problem, the cheap tatty aftermarket gear knob. Can someone point me in the right direction of a nice aftermarket knob.. How do the work is it one size fits all? I a'int forking out for an OEM knob they want £90!

Thank you.

Get the plainest you can,

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...

Unfortunately most of the aftermarket ones look completely ste, I'd try and get a genuine one from a colour collection model, nice leather jobby but probably ££'s

Try the big names, like Sparco etc, some of them available online/ebay. Try taking yours off and looking at what's in Halfords to see if the fitting is the same.

Alternatively, phone up a Toyota breaker and see if you can get a second hand OEM one.

Sorry I can't be of any more help.

IMO gear knobs should be round. Any other shape just doesn't feel right to me.

Best just to find any that is a good shape/size for your and wap it on. Even richbrook do okay ones if they are plain!

I saw some LED ones on ebay, I am just unsure if I want one has they may be a bit tacky. I looked at Halfords and there are some decent looking ones but I hate Halfords and don't like getting ripped off there.

How about one of these? As un-tacky as it gets.

Have a browse on sites like demon tweaks, merlin motorsport, rally design, car builder solutions...loads there, should give you some ideas. Then shop around for the best price.

Find a Yaris in a scrap yard and take the knob off that? They'll probably charge you a couple of quid for it at much.
