What to buy ML 320 CDi 2008/9 - what to look out for ?

Hi.
I want one ! But new to Mercedes world, coming from BMWs last 6 cars. 18-22k price range, looks like 2008/9 vehicles, and probably the 320CDi is preferred engine.
Anything particular I should be looking out for ? Better years, engines, etc ?
Will be used 6-8k miles per year, so hoping to get a nice 33-45k mileage vehicle, and keep it nice.
Any pointers greatly appreciated.
