Washer pipe gone for ever?

Over the weekend the windscreen washer pipe came apart in the engine bay, it then disappeared into the body work like a worm into a hole. Is that the last I'll see of it?

prehps try feeding a sturdy but small wire(coathanger?? ) through from the grommet to the other hole, Isnt there an access hole somewhere.

That's just not funny

Since it disappeared like a worm into a hole, I was thinking of tapping on the cavity to tempt it out again.

I'm not sure the coathanger jobby will get it as the hole to access it is so small but maybe worth a try.

What are my options for getting a new one connected?

I don't want to worry you but thought I'd mention you have a nut missing from your front offside wheel.

When I was rebuilding mine I had to repair a massive split in the O/S wing and I needed access to the underside of wing to bond the fibreglass..........so I chopped quite a big hole in the rear of the inner wheel arch (same shown in BB pics).

If you chop a wide enough hole you will open 2 compartments - one is the void shown in BB's pic and the other is the end of the footwell with the brake servo. So if this is your only option you would want to chop into the outer void as in pic to access the pipe.

Very drastic I know, when I put the cut out fibreglass back I mounted it against a wooden frame with self tappers and mastic like the headlamp access kidding myself that it might come in handy in the future to repair the servo etc.

Lets hope someone can come up with an easier solution.

sorry funny you should notice that the wheel nut is missing. thats how it was delivered when repaired with the other front wheel missing one nut too And they had the cheek to blame it one the wheel allignment company they used......
and I found them in the Glovebox.....

I suppose you could just run a new pipe along the inner wing as doesnt it just go in then come out futher up the wing?? or does it dissapear until it comes out at the washers?

Thanks for the suggestions. Cutting into the cavity I think will be my last option as I really want to avoid that. Looking at the pic of BB's car, there's a biggish rubber bung with bit coming out of it. If this is accesible it may give me a better chance of fishing it out, hmmmm?

My initial thoughts were to run a new one along the inside of the wing like BB suggested, I just need to find out where and how it all connects up.

Managed to retrieve it

Got to it through the hole for the side repeater. I used a coat hanger to fish it out, then a coat hanger from inside the engine bay to the side repeater hole and pulled the little blighter through.

Spose I could do after that, might have to get some of the rust off the hangers first tho.
