Gentlemen, any recommendations for an insurance broker or company who could cover my '99 XJR at a pleasing price? (2nd car limited mileage basis) Was hoping there may be a classic policy somewhere that is easy on the wallet....

I use LV

They have always given me a good price

When I needed to claim, not my fault, they did me well

Wanted to use another car, no No Claims Discout available so they coppied my XKR discount etc onto the XJR

I'm covered by Zurich via the insurance factory.

I have unlimited mileage, two drivers (Mrs & me), Class 1 business use etc for a 1999 XJR for about £290 pa.

Great value I think, considering we run a pub and I've got 6 points whistle

Thank you gents, some good thoughts and some I hadn't considered. Starting to get somewhere too. If anyone has anything else to add, please chime in.

Funny enough the floating advert alongside this thread is Adrian Flux, who have just quoted me on my TVR a 3rd car limited mileage, and they took into account my NCD from other cars, £190 fully comp for 2.9 V6 TVR. Incidentally very helpfull and knowledgeable chap on the phone.
Or you may try Footman James, who I will be moving from, to Flux, but could be back next year, as they were only £20 dearer.

Thanks for all the suggestions chaps, RH got the business with a very competitive quote that came in some way below the majority. 5000 miles, classic policy with legal and breakdown, low xs's and all for less than £235. Stonking value for a supercharged conveyance IMHO....

Have you considered an Admiral Multicar policy? I halved the cost - and I noticed Admiral described my car as a Jaguar XJ6/XJR which suggests they don't rate the supercharged beast any higher than the normal model.

I have my S Type R with Admiral. £1100 per year. Considering im twenty, it goes without saying (so i will say it anyway) thats very well priced. I have no reason to believe it would be different for an older person.
