Using iPad to edit GoPro vids

Has anyone tried using a iPad 2 with iMovie to edit GoPro files?

The issue I have is that my laptop is a pc and I only have Windows Movie Maker which does not support mpeg-4 files.

Using my iPad may be a solution, but before I invest in the apple SD card adaptor I just wanted to see if anyone has tried this?

The other option is to convert the files to a format which WMM will support, but I would need to buy some new software.

Yes you can edit GoPro footage with iMovie on the iPad, I've done it occasionally to mess around but for me personally I'd still prefer a mouse and keyboard.

Regarding Movie Maker, if you get Windows Live Movie Maker then you can edit .mp4 with that. HTH
