I am using this diff unit in my new project, and need to sort out the gearing etc.

The quaife book says this is fitted to the SR4, I would like to know what the speed is in top gear ie. how many mph per 1000 rpm it is, and what size are the driven and driver chain cogs for that speed.

Also can you tell me what rear tyres are use so I can work out the overall diameter for that gearing etc.

Thanks for any help you could give me....

Hi,

Have a look at the Radical manual below, hopefully this will be of some help. It shows all gearing Std with car being 43.

Cheers Bud, so I need a 3:1 ratio on the Chain cogs, and a 15 driver and 45 driven fitt's nicely. That gets me about 150mph, as my rear tyres are Identical in Diameter to those spec's.

It's going in a Mini by the way with a Garret Turbo attached... and about 7" lower than Normal, so should have some fun at the track....

PS one of the MD's of Radical drove me round Brunters the other week, in Proshift's car. Very impressive round the twisties. Never been in a car with slicks on a track before so was a bit of an eye opener....
