good wax around the £30-£40 mark
Discussion
Looking for a good wax to use on the family cars. Used Autoglym Super Resin Polish polish for years but looking to up the quality of products i use. I have a microfiber mitt to wash with soap bucket ans rinse bucket. Are the clay bars worth the money and do they work. Any advice you have is welcome.

It's below your budget, made by a British company, and is seriously good stuff. I cannot recommend BH stuff enough, and if you use it properly, that much clay and auto-balm will last you 5 years fairly easily.
You'll thank me ...
Oli.

SRP is a polish hence the name. It's slightly abrasive and has a small amount of fillers to mask light swirl marks. You'll get great results if you wash, clay, use SRp and then top it with a wax.
I've got some Collinite to apply to my car. Not used it yet but apparently, it's durability is really good.

Hardly a 'polish'. I've not found it aggressive. At all.I've got some Collinite to apply to my car. Not used it yet but apparently, it's durability is really good.
OP: Ditch the wax, sealants are hugely better in my experience.
In addition to the Bilt Hamber clay, you'll need:
- Polish:
- Surface Cleaner (from Halfords e.g.)
- Sealant:
Gtechniq do other sealants but this one is pretty cheap if you don't want to spend too much.
Also another good sealant is this one:

Swissvax Onyx - trick is to use a tiny amount of it otherwise it will smear and be difficult to remove.
Autoglym HD wax is good but hard work - smells awful too.
I tried Dodo Juice Blue Velvet wax and didn't like it at all - wore off in no time and just didn't leave the gloss of the other two. It also cystallised in cold weather after application into icy blue lumps - wouldn't go near the stuff again!

Right on the upper limit f your budget, but Chemical Guy's 50/50 Connoisseur Paste Wax is just awesome!

As has already been mentioned though. A full clay bar of the car will do wonders before the wax.

AutoGlym HD wax is fantastic stuff, works incredibly well with the Super Resin Polish. Dead easy to apply, and you can layer it too for better results.
I have used mine at least 50 times and have barely used 1/4 of the pot.
Amazon is the best place to buy it:

Use wax on top of sealant - that way the car is protected and looks better. Sealant doesn't bring out the shine as much as a wax will. OP: Ditch the wax, sealants are hugely better in my experience.

Really? I was told by a professional detailer that 99% of the finish is down to surface prep. My experience backs that statement too.BeirutTaxi said:
