City & Guilds Senior Awards: how valuable are they?
Discussion
Has anyone got experience or knowledge of the City & Guilds 'senior awards': www.cityandguilds.com/Courses-and-Qualifications/s...
How valuable are the Licentiateship (LCGI) or Graduateship (GCGI)? E.g. do they convert into Credit Transfer towards a university degree?
Thoughts?

As a Member (MCGI), I declare an interest.
Alone, no single qualification or Acredited award will mean much in today's competitive job market. As part of an overall package however, these (and other) awards may tip the balance when a recruiter or employer is sifting CVs. Whilst of course you have to have the core competencies for any role you're applying for, any additional evidence of endeavour and knowledge aquisition makes candidates stand out to me and I know to others too. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Hi Rog. Many thanks. That helps.
I guess my question is: what is a Licentiateship or Graduateship of the City & Guilds Institute? They look like membership levels of a professional body, rather like the ILM or Chartered Management Institute. However, the ILM and CMI purport to be what they are: professional membership bodies, not graduate qualifications. Whereas the City & Guilds Senior Awards are positioned like graduate qualifications, when it's not clear that's what they genuinely are.
Also, what does membership of the City & Guilds Association mean in practice?
