Admiral Multicar Policy NCB Query? any advice

I've had two policies with Admiral Multicar running for a few years now. I'm stepping down to one car so don't need the multicar discount. My last Confirmation (proof of NCB)said that I had 5 years NCB on my BMW and 2 years on my Audi (total 7). This year is nearly up so I thought I'd have 9 years NCB but they seem to say that it doesn't work this way and all I can take with me is 6 years NCB.

I thought that you'd get 1 year NCB for each car you're running as they are both sepearte policies just with a discount because you have both policies with them.

Are they right? any advice?

Also anybody know why Admiral are extortionate (almost double) to pay monthly as opposed to one hit. my girlfriends insurance went up only £50 or so to pay monthly

They are right. They also choose to charge a lot on the finance side so pay up front or go with someone else

You do get no claims on both but you can't add them together to make more. You'll have 2 desperate sets of no claims one with 6 years and one with 3.

Nearly all insurance companies have a maximum NCD limit of between 5 and 7 years irrespective of how many more years claim free driving you've had.

Paying monthly is finance and like all short term loans the interest rates are very high.
